Rangers detained five MQM-London workers from Mukka Chowk

KARACHI: Rangers detained five activists of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) London who were trying to hoist the party flag and write slogans at the Liaquat Ali Khan Chowk (Mukka Chowk) on Friday afternoon, Aaj News reported. 

According to the reports, the party workers of MQM- London and Pakistan gathered on Friday to remember their martyrs in Azizabad,  to read Quran and recite Fateha. The atmosphere at this venue was tensed since morning reportedly.

Party workers of MQM London tried to reach Yadgar-e-Shuhda but Rangers thwarted them from doing so. Later only women and elderly workers of MQM London were allowed to visit the monument.

On their return from Yadgar-e-Shuhda the pumped up party workers started raising slogan, they also tried to hoist the party flag in the area, a police official said.

In order to stop them police had to arrest them, he added.
