Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi has said Pakistan and India have to hold talk to resolve the Kashmir issue.
Talking to US media in Washington, he said India has been trying to suppress the freedom movement in Occupied Kashmir by using brutal tactics.
Tariq Fatemi said Kashmiris' freedom movement is gaining momentum, which cannot be stopped by heavy handed methods.
To a question, he said Pakistan has been taking action against terrorist groups as part of National Plan of Action. He said the incidents of terrorism have significantly declined after the launch of Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister said being an active member of international community; Pakistan wants to play its role at regional and international levels. He said Pakistan is actively involved in efforts to maintain peace in the region, including in Afghanistan.
To a question on Pak-US relations, he said his visit is aimed at forging ties with new US administration and Islamabad wants to further enhance these relations. -Radio Pakistan
