Panama Leaks case: Aitzaz says willing to provide free advice to PTI

Senator Aitezaz Ahsan has made clear to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that he will be willing to provide free advice in Panama Leaks case but excused from contesting the case in court.

PPP sources said Aitezaz wasn't willing to take the case to Supreme Court. Moreover, Aitezaz will also need the approval of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari before making any big decision regarding the case.

PTI's hunt for a good lawyer is not over yet as Aitezaz didn't give the green signal to the party. According to the PTI sources, Aitezaz will keep himself limited to advice only. Senior lawyer Hamid Ali Khan on Friday declined from further pursuing the Panama Leaks case for PTI. He said he couldn't fight the case after negative campaign against him on media.

NNI adds: The efforts of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) proved so far fruitless to convince senior lawyer Aitezaz Ahsan in taking up Panama Leaks case as its counsel in Supreme Court, sources said Saturday.

According to sources, senior PPP lawyer has restricted himself to giving pieces of advice to the PTI when he was contacted by the party leaders. The sources said Aitezaz wanted the PTI to seek permission from PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari if they want his services in Panama case.

It should be mentioned here that Ahsan was not in favour of taking the Panama issue to the court, sources said. It is also important to mention here that the PTI seems dissatisfied with the performance of Hamid Khan, central lawyer in the said case. Any decision on this count will be taken after Imran Khan returns home from a foreign trip.
