ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday adjourned hearing of the Panamagate scandal involving the family of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif till November 29, Aaj News reported. 

A five member larger bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali resumed hearing of Panama case.

The counsel of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has submitted an application before the top court saying the PTI has not submitted solid documents or evidence to prove its allegations. The counsel said his client has already rejected these allegations.

Following PM Nawaz’s submission, Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali said that solid evidence for Panama Leaks will have to be submitted in the court.

Justice Jamali also observed that they cannot issue a conclusive decision against the PM until there is proof of his alleged corruption.

Meanwhile, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said, "You have pointed out the mistakes. Now give us documentary evidence." "We can not scrutiny the entire life of Nawaz Sharif," he added.

The court later adjourned the hearing into the case till November 29.

Later talking to the media persons, Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said the PTI has no arguments and evidence to submit before the apex court. He said the PTI's politics is based on lies, which stands exposed before the court.

He said our hands are clean and we will come out victorious in the case.

In last hearing on Tuesday, the counsels of the Prime Minister and his children submitted before the court the documents in support of their concise statements furnished before the apex court in the last hearing. The court in its order said the copies of the documents should be exchanged with the parties for examination and review.

Akram Sheikh, the counsel of Prime Minister’s children presented before the court the supplementary concise statement of Maryam Nawaz. She submitted 400- pages documents in top court today. These documents contained details of PM’s property, factories and other taxes.

CJ Jamali also said that the investigations into any allegation of corruption was not the mandate of the court as local courts are effective for that purpose.

Moreover, Justice Azmat Saeed said that the documents submitted by PTI had no link with the case. The press clippings could not be presented as evidence, he claimed. -Aaj News/ Radio Pakistan
