The Pakistan Tehrik-Insaf has copies of the Prime Minister's nomination papers for 2013 elections in which he declared Maryam Nawaz as a dependent which led to questions of irregularities subsequent to the Panama papers which showed her as a trustee of offshore companies.Â
This was stated by PTI Chairman Imran Khan on a private channel. The Prime Minister's lawyer Salman Aslam Butt, however, contended before the Supreme Court Thursday that none of the Prime Minister's children has been declared as his dependent in (i) his tax returns as well as wealth statements filed in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws; (b) nomination forms for the general elections 2013; and (c) statement of assets and liabilities filed with the Election Commission of Pakistan in accordance with the provisions of the applicable law.
This correspondent could not access any nomination forms for the general elections 2013 because as per the ECP "there is not enough space on the website" but were viewed on the website till April 2016; the Panama papers were leaked mid April.
