PM orders inquiry into Karachi train accident

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Thursday ordered an inquiry into a train accident in Karachi and sought punishment for those found responsible, Aaj News reported. 

According to the reports, the Prime Minister directed immediate rescue and relief activities to save lives of those stranded and critically injured persons and called for best medical treatment for them.

He expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives and prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls. He also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.

The passenger train Zakaria Express rammed into the stationery Farid Express between Landhi and Jumma Goth railway stations in the early hours of Thursday, resulting in loss of several lives.

Earlier, President Mamnoon Hussain expressed grieve over the loss of precious lives in today's Karachi train accident.

Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also saddened on such tragic incident.

Chairman Pakistan People's Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives and emphasized on investigations of such terrible accidents reportedly.
