Filing the petition before the Supreme Court, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan urged the court to disqualify Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members in the matter.

Barrister Zafarullah of Watan Party has also filed a petition terming offshore investments legal, saying no action is required against such investments.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, one of the petitioners, Tariq Asad, filed a civil miscellaneous application in the matter, seeking court directives to federal government to restrain the PTI chairman Imran Khan and his workers from locking down Islamabad and staging a sit-in in the capital.

Filing the application under Rule 6 of Supreme Court Rules 1980, he made Federation through Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Secretary Ministry of Information, Chairman, Pakistan Electronic Media and Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), Chairman PTI Imran Khan, National Accountability Bureau, Director General Federal Investigation Agency and Chairman of the Election Commission of Pakistan respondents.

Tariq Asad submitted that instead of changing or overthrowing the incumbent government, Imran Khan should follow a legal way of vote of no confidence against the Prime Minister of Pakistan under Article 95 of the Constitution.
