ISLAMABAD: Former leg-spinner Abdul Qadir believes Twenty20 Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed is a team leader and a true fighter.
Talking to APP here on Thursday, Qadir wished good luck to the national T20, saying Pakistan will do well in the series against West Indies.
"Sarfraz is a match winning player. He just focuses on his game and is a team leader. The T20 team will go a long way under his captaincy.â€
He said if the selectors don't have Shahid Afridi in their future plans then they should convey him clearly beforehand.
He advised that senior players like Shoaib Malik and few others who perform once in a blue moon should be dropped permanently from the team and instead youngsters should be given the chance.
"If we have to lose while having the seniors in the team then why not include youngsters and groom them for future," he said.
Former chief selector Mohsin Hasan Khan also gave his best wishes to the national team for their first T20 against West Indies on Friday.
Pakistan will play three T20s and as many ODIs and Tests with West Indies, with the first T20 beginning on Friday. - APP
