WEB DESK: Mommy to be Kareena Kapoor has definitely been a role model when it comes to professionalism. The actress has not let anyone back down since the couple announced that they are expecting a child soon, although, Kareena says she is tired of the same questions over and over again.

In an interview with the Asian Age, the actress was asked about the gender of the baby that annoyed Kareena a bit. She was very straight forward with her answer.

“Wherever I go these days, there’s just one question Saif and I are asked, which I think is quite intrusive — ‘is it a boy or is it a girl? Have you found out?’ and I am like, ‘Excuse me? What difference does it make?’ I am a girl child. I would love to have a girl. What is the difference? I think I have done probably more for my parents and my family than a son would,” said Kareena.

Another thing that annoyed Kareena was the question of her work. If she were to continue the work during and after her pregnancy.

She added, “Firstly, this is very intrusive and at this point, I don’t think you should be asking me this question. But coming back to it, I think we are still in a nation where we have been asked, ‘Oh, you’re getting married! Are you still going to work? Oh, you’re having a child! Are you still going to work?’ These questions upset me.”

The actress went on to thank Hugh Evans, the co-founder of the Global Poverty Project and Global Education and leadership Foundation Chairman Shiv Khemka for allowing her to lend her voice.

“When they wrote to me if I would like to be a part of this initiative, I think my first reaction, as an expectant mother on this journey, was that nothing would make me happier than to be part of a movement that supports gender equality. Not just for me or my child, but for the millions and millions of children out there.

"All those people who think that a girl child is considered a taboo or considered not equal enough, not up to par with a man, you must know a woman is the only soul that has the right to carry life in her and that is truly something that is a joy. Thank you, Mr Evans and Mr Khemka for allowing me at this special point in my life to lend my voice. I hope it makes a difference,” Kareena concluded.
