Rangers seal MQM offices including headquarters Nine-Zero

Sindh Rangers carried out an operation at the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters Nine-Zero and other party buildings in Karachi late last night.

Rangers' Sector Commander Sachal Brigadier Khurram Shehzaad informed media that anti-state literature and weapons, including five SMGs and two pistols, were recovered during the operation.

Rangers sealed MQM related buildings, including Nine-Zero Khursheed Begum Memorial Secretariat and media cell after completing all legal requirements. However, he said no arrest was made.

Sindh Rangers also took into custody renowned scholar Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain.

In a statement, Director General Sindh Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar says no person responsible for yesterday's unrest in Karachi will be spared.

He said strict action will also be taken against those responsible for provoking people to create such a situation.

The DG Rangers said identification will be made of the people through camera footage who made attacks on media houses and chanted anti-state slogans.

He said situation in the city is under control and the whole situation is being monitored closely.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over a meeting in Karachi to review law and order situation in Karachi after attack on media houses by MQM workers.

The meeting was attended by DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar, IG Sindh A.D. Khawaja, AIG Karachi Mushtaq Meher and other senior officials of law enforcement agencies.

Talking to media after the meeting, Advisor to Chief Minister on Information Moula Bux Chandio said peace in Karachi and protection of life and property of every citizen will be ensured.

He said the criminals involved in attack on media houses will be arrested and brought to justice.
