Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Hakimullah Mehsud group is said to have claimed responsibility for the attack on Qawwal Amjad Sabri.

A private TV channel reported that Qari Saifullah Mehsud, the spokesperson for the TTP's Hakimullah Mehsud group, claimed responsibility for the killing.
