PESHAWAR:- All FATA Inter-Agency Archery Championship got under way here at Qayyum Sports Complex with players from all seven agencies and six FRs are taking part in the three-day event.
Secretary FATA Olympic Association Shahid Khan Shinwari formally inaugurated the Championship.
Secretary Pakistan Archery Federation Muhammad Wisal Khan, Member Central Executive Committee of PTI Sports and Culture Forum Saeed Bacha, Secretary FATA Association Manzoor Khan, officials and players were also present.
Speaking on this occasion, Shahid Khan Shinwari lauded the efforts of the FATA Archery Association for organizing the event with the support of the Directorate of Sports FATA.
He said there is no dearth of talent of any game in FATA but due to lack of facilities and ignorance on the part of the concerned quarters the youth of FATA slipped to wrong hands.
He said we can involve the youth through sports in healthy activities. He said with the holding of the Championship it would help in searching out new talent in the game besides it could provide opportunities to the youth of FATA to come up and show their skills at national and international levels.
At the end, Shahid Khan Shinwari distributed uniform, track-suite, shoes among all the participants on behalf of the Directorate of Sports FATA.
The Championship will continue for three days and the final and prize distribution ceremony would be organized on December 13.
Shahid Khan Shinwari also announced Rs. 20,000 for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Writers Association on behalf of the FATA Olympic Association as a token of support.
