"We are planning to hold training workshops to give basic information to media people regarding nuclear issues" Director SI & PR PAEC Shahid Riaz Khan told sources.

In this regard,First media workshop will be held on Saturday,February 1,to focus especially on future programme of PAEC and the safety of nuclear power plants for the proposed K-2/K-3 plants, Director told.
He said the workshop will cover subjects including basics of nuclear power and PAEC program,Radiation sources and effects,risk analysis,safety of nuclear power plants and emergency preparedness for nuclear power plants.

"Risks associated with different sources of energy production, comparison of risks from energy sources and other activities will also be discussed".
Besides,Media persons will also be briefed about elements of emergency preparedness,features of emergency preparedness plan for KANUPP and K-2/K-3 site,he stated.

"PAEC will keep on organizing such orientation workshops and courses in future as well".
