Eating berries, chocolate may help protect against diabetes

ISLAMABAD: High intakes of berries and chocolates are associated with lower insulin resistance and better blood glucose regulation.

Radio Pakistan quoting a study said that researchers from University of East Anglia (UEA) and King's College London in Britain found that high levels of flavonoids including anthocyanins and other compounds in berries, tea and chocolate, could guard against type 2 diabetes.

It further said that having a significant amount of berries, tea and chocolate daily may help protect people from diabetes.

Moreover,high intakes of these dietary compounds are associated with lower insulin resistance and better blood glucose regulation.
