Addressing a meeting here on Monday he said that exemplary co-ordination and cooperation among the Rangers and Sindh Police is being noticed for the first time in the history and it must continue to provide foolproof security to the citizens and to maintain law and order in the city.

The meeting reviewed the performance of targeted operation launched since September 04, 2013 in the city.

Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon, Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiyana, Additional Chief Secretary Home Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, IGP Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch, Additional IGP Shahid Hayat, Law Secretary Meer Muhammad Shaikh, Prosecutor General Sindh Sher Muhammad Shaikh, all DIGs in Karachi and other officers from LEAs attended the meeting.

The participants offered fateha for Chourdry Muhamamd Aslam, victims of Bannu and Rawalpindi incidents.

The Chief Minister took serious notice of fatal terrorist attacks in recent past resulting inmartyrdom of Choudry Muhammad Aslam SP CID, Molana Usman Yar Khan and three workers of Express TV and directed the authorities to arrest the culprits without further delay.

He directed to speed up the targeted operation with full force, with determination and take the operation with spirit to its success.

He said that though considerable achievements have been made by the targeted operation but still there is need to pre-emptive and swoop with prowess against the terrorist.

The meeting took serious notice of the non co-operative attitude of the cell phone companies and not blocking the fake/ un-verified SIMs, the participants of meeting termed it as main hindrance in maintaining law and order situation in the Karachi and unanimously once again recommended to the Federal Government to put ban on fake SIMs and also to ensure bio-metric verification of each individual to whom cell phone SIM is issued through NADRA.

It was decided to provide 300 bullet proof mobiles, 100 APC vehicles and required numbers of bullet proof jackets/ helmets to the Sindh Police and 05 APC vehicles to the Karachi Jails' authorities.

The meeting also decided to established Commando type Special Fighter Force (SFF) within Police establishment with latest equipment and training.

It was also decided to recruit more retired Army personnel in Sindh Police.

The meeting also approved recruitment plan for 200 investigation officers and 200 prosecutors and establish a separate prosecution cell under the supervision of a DIG rank Police officer.

It was decided to established open complaints cell under the supervision of a DIG rank Police officer to receive complaints about extortion from the people. In addition to that focal persons will be placed at all business centres to gather information and report LEAs for prompt action.

The meeting approved total head money from Rs 10 million to 02 million against five most dangerous criminals and assigned the Additional IGP Shahid Hayat to complete the list of other 378 outlaws within 48 hours to publish in the press.

The meeting was informed that necessary permission from Sindh High Court has been received to shift 51 dangerous convicts to other provinces whereas 220 such under trial prisoners for shifting to other cities.

The I.G Prisons was directed to complete the process of jammers installation in the prisons within a week.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah also directed the Additional Chief Secretary Home and Commissioner Karachi to complete the list of the Government employees who are either involved in criminals activities or absent from duty but getting salary from Government Departments regularly.

The Additional Inspector General Sindh Police Shahid Hayat briefing the meeting informed that compare to pervious period crime rate has been decreased after targeted operation in the Karachi.

The meeting also informed that 50 criminals have been detained for 90 days for joint investigation.
