Abdul Rahman Khetran's Quetta residence declared sub-Jail

QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) MPA Sardar Abdul Rahman Khetran has been shifted to Quetta from Barkhan and his personal residence has been declared sub-jail.

Earlier, Sardar Khetran was arrested in a case registered at PS Barkhan against 10 persons including him and his son for allegedly kidnapping police personnel, physically torturing them, snatching official weapons from them and interfering into the government affairs, police said.

The officials said that three more FIRs have also been lodged against the accused at Barkhan Police Station.

Official sources confirmed to APP, here on Thursday that the private residence of Sardar Abdul Rahman Khetran in Quetta has been declared sub-jail.

"Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali issued production orders of Sardar Khetran so that he could attend the provincial assembly session. Therefore, he was shifted from Barkhan Police Station to his personal residence in Patail Bagh area, off Jinnah Road on Tuesday night and his private residence was declared Sub-Jail" they said.

They said that a police team headed by an inspector has been deployed at the residence of Sardar Khetran.

It was learnt that Sardar Khetran who called on Chief Minister, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch at his chamber in the Balochistan Assembly after attending the assembly session conveyed his reservations over registration of FIR against him, his son and private security guards.

Earlier, talking to media persons, he said that cases were lodged against him on political basis as his political rivals wanted to win by-local government elections to be held on January 19 in Balochistan. ?The persons implicated in the case include candidates for contesting by-local bodies polls," he said.

However, on other side, police officials claimed that they conducted raid at the private residence of Sardar Khetran in Haji Kot area of Barkhan district to recover a family, who was illegal kept detained at the private jail of Sardar Khetran. "Police recovered five people including four men and a woman from the private prison of Sardar Khetran," they said.
