Martyred bodies of Chaudary Aslam and his guards autopsied

KARACHI: Autopsy of the bodies of SP CID Chaudary Aslam and his guards, who were martyred in a suicide bombing on Thursday was performed in a local private hospital.

On the other hand, the left body parts of the suicide bomber was bought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

"Severed human limbs were received by the JPMC’s autopsy performers. We were told these belonged to the bomber who blew himself up on the roadside wearing explosive device that killed CID chief Chaudhry Aslam and his two men", said the medico-legal officer at the state-run JPMC.

According to Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Shahid Hayat, the investigators are yet not sure whether it was a suicide attack.

"We are investigating this suicide bombing from various angles, however, it is a fact that some body parts were found from the blast site, which gives us a reason to believe that it maybe a suicide bombing”, said the city police chief.
