Met Office forecast cloudy weather,rain for different areas of Country

LAHORE: Quite cold and partly cloudy weather with shallow fog in the morning is likely in plains of Punjab,whereas fairly widespread thunder-rain with snowfall over the hills is expected over Malakand, Mardan, Hazara divisions,Balochistan, FATA,Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

According to Met report,Tyesday's trough of the westerly wave,lying over

Kashmir,adjoining areas, has moved away eastwards. While yesterday's second trough of the westerly wave, lying over most parts of Iran & adjoining areas of northwest Balochistan has moved northeastwards and on Wednesday it lies over Afghanistan & western parts of the country.

Scattered thunder-rain with snowfall over the hills may occur over
D.I.Khan, Bannu, Kohat, Peshawar, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions and Islamabad during the next 24 hours.

Thunder-rain is likely to occur at a few places of D.G.Khan (with light snowfall over the hills), Bahawalpur, Sukkur & Larkana divisions. While
mainly dry-partly cloudy weather with isolated mist would prevail over rest of areas of the country.

In metropolis temperatures on 07.01.14: Minimum temperature 1.5 degree C, Maximum temperature 18.8 C.

Highest Maximum Temperature (Pakistan): 28.0 C ,recorded at Chhor & Mithi.

Highest Maximum Temperature (Punjab) 24.5 C recorded at Noor Pur Thal.

Lowest Minimum Temperature (Pakistan) -11.6 C recorded at Skardu.

Lowest Minimum Temperature (Punjab) 0.0 C (Recorded at Islamabad zero point.
