ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the government to provide bullet proof car and security to ex chief justice of Pakistan on January 9, without any further delay.
While hearing the petition complaining non-provision of security to the ex-CJP here, Justice Shaukat Siddiqui said if ex-CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhr was not provided the required car, then all VVIPs bulletproof cars would be taken back.
Justice Shaukat directed the interior ministry and cabinet division to provide the bulletproof car to ex-CJP by January 9, adding no excuse would be acceptable in this regard.
Justice Siddiqui enquired from Islamabad IG present in the court “Are you taking any revenge from the ex-CJP?â€
In response IG police, Sikandar Hayat said that he hasn’t any car adding bulletproof cars are given only on the directive of the prime minister.
Justice Shaukat said whether Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry would now have to go to the prime minister asking for the car? And said all VVIPs bulletproof cars would be withdrawn, if ex-CJP not given the car.
