Musharraf misses the trail again due to chest pain

ISLAMABAD: Former President (retd) General Pervez Musharraf was taken to hospital immediately after he complained chest pain on Wednesday. He was on his way to the Special Court for the hearing of Treason case registered against him by the Federation.

Musharraf has missed his case twice due to security reasons; as he was receiving threats and even explosives were found near his house on Chak Shehzad. It was the third time he missed his case and this time the reason turned out to be a complain about chest pain for which he was immediately taken to the hospital.

Musharraf is charged against imposing military rule and emergency in 2007.

While Musharraf was in his way to Special Court, he complained about chest pain, for which he was immediately diverted to military hospital in Rawalpindi.

The case is being closely watched for any impact on the relationship between Pakistan's three power centers - the military, an increasingly assertive judiciary and the fledgling civilian government.

Judge Faisal Arab has said he did not wish to issue an arrest warrant for Musharraf, but may be forced to if he does not appear in court.
