Talking to the media after a meeting with the Acting US Consul General Anupama Pratti Pati at his office in the Sindh Assembly Building here on Thursday, he said that the Sindh government will challenge the Sindh High Court's verdict on delimitation of constituencies in the province.
Khuhro said that the high court's judgement came at a time when candidates had already filed their nomination papers and now a confusion has been created that from where a candidate would contest the polls.
He said that the Sindh government had abolished the local government system under which the delimitations had been carried out in 2001.
The minister maintained that each province has been empowered under the 18th Constitutional Amendment to carry out legislation for local bodies elections.
Nisar Khuhro said that the US is assisting in the repair and reconstruction of schools damaged or destroyed in rains and floods, besides extending help in other social welfare projects.
He said his meeting with the US diplomat was aimed at discussing development works at the educational institutions of the province.
The minister thanked the diplomat for US assistance for the educational institutions of the province.
