Indian paramilitary forces and police personnel resorted brute force and fired teargas shells on civilians at Khan Sahib in Budgam after people staged an anti-India protest demo and demanded the body of one Showket Ahmad for his burial, who was martyred by Indian troops in Chadoora operation, KMS reported.
Indian forces detained at least 30 protesters and lodged them at Khan Sahib police station Indian troops also beat up anti-India protesters in Trala and Kakpora areas.
On the other hand, an Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was feared dead while another was seriously injured when the duo slipped into a deep gorge from a mountaintop at Machil in Kupwara district.
Meanwhile, a group of angry youth, chanting pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, attacked the cavalcade of senior National Conference (NC) leader and puppet Minister, Mohammad Akbar Lone in Bandipore when he was returning to Srinagar after attending a meet of party workers in Saderkote Bala.
