The West Indies beat New Zealand by two wickets in the first one-day international at Eden Park in Auckland Thursday.
After dismissing New Zealand for 156 in the 43rd over, the West Indies reached their target for the loss of eight wickets in the 28th over.
Darren Sammy was not out 43 and Lendl Simmons made 34.For New Zealand, Mitchell McClenaghan took five for 58.
