Court asks to issue arrest warrants for Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: The prosecutors has asked special court for the issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants for former president Musharraf for not appearing in his trail case.

As a three-member bench of the special court led by Justice Faisal Arab was preparing for Tuesday's preliminary hearing in the case, police said that they found a 5 kg explosive from the route on which Musharraf was scheduled to reach the court.

The counsel of Musharraf, Anwar Mansoor Khan informed the court that his client ( Musharraf) cannot appear in the court today. As he is facing some life threats and cannot take any risk.

Justice Faisal Arab told the counsel to register a petition against these life threats.

Musharraf's counsel Anwar Mansoor Khan told that he has already filed a written complaint and a petition against these threat but now he cannot find a copy of it, so that he can show it to the court.

The prosecutor said the presence of the accused is compulsory in the court as it is the criminal case.

The court adjourned the hearing till January 1.
