Speaking to media representatives, Khursheed Shah, head of the bipartisan parliamentary committee, confirmed that Ebrahim’s name had been agreed upon for recommendation for the CEC post.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has agreed on the name of Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim as the next Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) in May.
Earlier PML-N finalised three names for the slot of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) which would be sent to the parliamentary committee. Three names were acting CEC Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice (r) Fakhruddin Ibrahim and Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid.
