SC already decided what the PPP feared: Aitzaz

Talking to media outside the court, Aitzaz said that 250 pages long appeal was prepared against the verdict but the party decided not file it.

He further said, not filing an appeal was not a mistake as the decision was already known and obvious.

He said that the three-member bench, in its April 26 verdict, had announced that a “question is likely to arise” on Gilani’s disqualification, however, it did not disqualify him.

"During the entire case the bench kept reiterating that the ruling of the seven judge bench could not be changed,” Ahsan said, adding that “the short order changed the face of the verdict in the contempt of court case”.

But now the part has accepted the disqualification though it has not decided to file a review petition.

Aitzaz added that, Budget is absolutely secured because the elected Parliament approved it.

The detailed copy of the court verdict will elaborate the decisions of Yousuf Raza Gilani from April 26 till June 19, he said.

He kept repeating his point of view as "there is no harm in writing a letter to the Swiss authorities, but not writing is also not a crime".
