Sri Lanka wins hard fought battle against Pakistan to clinch ODI series

The Pakistani team, after electing to bat first, made a total of 248 runs for a loss of 7 wickets within the set 50 overs. Batsmen Umar Akmal and Imran Farhat starred for the Pakistani team with half centuries, while Misbah, Asad and Azhar making handful of contributions.

The Sri Lankan team responded sluggishly to the Pakistan total as Sohail Tanvir ripped through the opening stand of the Sri Lanka team but this was compensated by Sangakarra and Chandimal scoring 40 and 54 runs respectively. Angelo Matthews starred for the Sri Lankan team scoring 80 for the home team.

The match had a nail biting climax with the Sri Lankan team requiring 15 runs off the last over. The last over was bowled by Mohammad Sami and Matthews struck a six of the second ball to lower the tension of the game. Mathews finished the game with two balls remaining as he struck a boundary of the fourth ball of the last over.
