A "tax-free" budget of Rs 780 billion will be presented in the provincial assembly of Punjab today on Saturday. Aaj News reported.
Rs 246 billion has been allocated for development projects while an amount of Rs 85 billion has been is for social development. Rs 30 billion was allocated for Education sector and a mere Rs 18 billion for health sector. Salaries of all government employees have been proposed with a raise of 20 per cent.
Rs 70 billion was allocated for police, Rs 67 billion for infrastructure, Rs 10 billion for production sector and Rs 9 billion for service industry will be utilized.
For development of female dominated sectors an amount of Rs 13 billion has been allocated. While Rs 0.35 billion will be spent of minorities. For Ramaza Bazaars, a special package of Rs 4 billion has been proposed in the budget. Rs 20 billion will be spent as subsidiaries in various business sectors.
An Easy loan scheme for women has also been proposed in the Punjab budget of year 2012-13.
As to the Welfare schemes of Punjab government, The Ashiana, Yellow Cab and Free Laptop schemes will continue to operate during this fiscal year of 2012-13.
