Young Mohammad Ali, had recently came to the metropolis from his village in Sanghar, Sindh, to get hired by the Karachi Police department.

He pawned his wife's jewelry and his house in order to collect some money so that he can get deployed in the police force.

Little did he know, the miscreants were conning him into giving them an amount of Rs 5.5 lakh as a bribe to get a shortcut entry into the police force.

The conmen cunningly convinced Ali that he was now a cop by handing him a police uniform and stationing him near a business center in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

For three days, Mohammad Ali served at his designated duty area, while none of the actual police suspected anything. No one asked him about his identity or where he came from as he kept showing up on duty every day for three consecutive days.

It was later when Mohammad Ali realized that he was a victim of fraud and not an actual police man, when he visited the CPO Office to request his employment papers. The young man stood there with his world turned upside down when he heard that there was no one admitted in the police by the name of Mohammad Ali and that his data was no where in the records.

The CPLC has took notice of Mohammad Ali's case and decided to help him in tracking down the culprits.

CPLC Chief Ahmed Chinoy said that there was a strong possibility of some mid-level officers of the police were involved in this fraud. He said that this is not the first time a case like this has come forward. He said that thousands of young men get conned into paying for a police job while the government appears clueless about it.
