The helicopter was flying over Chenab River at the time; a pilot and a trainee officer were reported to have been on board.

Army officials said army teams were reached the scene to search the helicopter after it lost communication with the airbase. The pilot and trainee onboard were feared to be killed in the accident, sources said.

The remains of the helicopter were found from the Chenab River, according to the sources, the doors of the helicopter were found open and the seat-belts broken.

The search for Pilot Major Zahid Bari and trainee officer Captain Ahmed is still in progress.
