A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight was forced to abandon take off because of a possible bomb threat, on Thursday.

According to officials, the flight was under a bomb threat because of which PIA ordered the evacuation of its 157 passengers and 10 flight crew members from their Airbus A310, which was ready to take off for Dubai.

A bomb threat on Thursday forced Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to evacuate 157 passengers and 10 crew from an Airbus preparing to take off for Dubai, officials said.

According to PIA spokesman Sultan Hasan, the plane was ready to take off from Lahore airport where a phone call by an anonymous person tipped the airport officials that there was a bomb on board the flight. The aircraft was instantly evacuated and officials began searching for anything suspicious, he added.

The PIA flight PK 203 will now depart after clearance from airport officials, probably around 3:00 pm, local time. AFP
