After a local TV channel, India TV, conducted a sting operation and revealed five Indian domestic cricketers who are allegedly involved in match fixing and corruption in the IPL.

Upon allegations, the players were handed temporary suspensions by the BCCI, until an investigation was carried out clearing their names of these allegations.

The accused, Mohnish Mishra, Abhinav Bali, Amit Yadav, Shalabh Srivastav and Sudhindra; are currently playing for various teams in the IPL.

The IPL commissioner Rajiv Shukla told the media,  "The BCCI has decided to suspend these players from all cricket till preliminary investigation into the whole episode is completed."

The investigations will be carried out by former police officer Ravi Sawani, who also served in the ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit.

One of the accused player was caught on tape claiming to bowl no-balls, in return for Rs 1 million.

All five players have denied these allegations for now.

Srivastav, who is one of the alleged five, claimed that he will take his accusers to the court of law and said that the voice heard in the recordings is not his. While another player of Kings XI Punjab, Yadav, was taped by the Hindi-TV channel saying, he believed that last season's IPL match against the Delhi Daredevils was fixed, but he cannot provide sufficient evidence to support his claim.
