Citizens, frustrated by the heat and WAPDA have started protesting and burning tires on the streets of Lahore.
About 12 to 14 hours of load shedding is being carried out in major cities of Punjab, where as the rural areas of Punjab are suffering from more than 20 hours of load shedding every day. Some villages are reported to be deprived of electricity for over 22 hours a day.
Demonstrators tired of load shedding and the rising heat, burnt tires and staged protest in Hafiz Abad, while road blocks were put up in various parts of Gujranwala.
Other cities effected by the un-scheduled load shedding are Sialkot, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Mandi Bhawal, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Sheikhoopura, Okara and Multan.
Various production factories remain shut as the wage earning labor suffers every day.
According to sources, the increasing temperatures are causing more electricity consumption by the people, this might result in longer time periods of load shedding in the coming future.
