Gilani has no constitutional significance: Nawaz

LAHORE: While talking to media reporter on Friday, Nawaz Sharif stated that the acting Prime Minister, Yousuf Raza Gilani, and his entire cabinet has no legal and constitutional significance; they are totally unconstitutional amid the Supreme Court’s decision.

“I have no personal enmity with Gilani, the issue is only regarding constitution and the PM’s divergence from it, Gilani has betrayed his oath,” Nawaz further stated.

Nawaz also stated that, “After Supreme Court’s decision, the country is running without any government."

The Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader stated that they would take severe action against this by undertaking immense protesting actions, including long march, in order to save the nation.

While talking about the Swiss Accounts, Nawaz said that the money belonged to the people of Pakistan; it should be brought back and spent on the people of Pakistan.

During the press conference, Leader of the opposition, Chaudhry Nisar stated that “Gilani has no right to preside over as the Prime Minister of this country amid the verdict given by the Supreme Court.”

Earlier, the Supreme Court convicted the Prime Minister with respect to the “contempt of court” charge whereby the Prime Minister had refused to write a letter to the Swiss authorities.
