The court, while hearing the petitions filed by the relatives of the AirBlue crash victims, stated that DG Nadeem Khan Yousafzai should remain suspended (as per a earlier court order) until the investigations conclude with respect to the 2010 AirBlue and the recent Bhoja Airline crash.
The court, under Section 3 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance 2003, issued notices to CAA Chief Nadeem Yousufzai and Defence Secretary Nargis Sethi, ordering them to appear in the court on May 30.
Wasim Sajjad, an assistant to the AirBlue counsel, stated in the court that 107 of 152 affected families had been disbursed a payment of Rs 5.5 million each. This comment was however challenged by one of the petitioner, who stated that he had completed all the formalities but was not compensated yet.
Hearing this, the Court ordered the AirBlue officials to compensate all the petitioners within the next 20 days or else their services would be terminated.
With respect to Bhoja Airline, the court issued a show-cause notice to the concerned Airline's Managing Director further stating that a harsh action would not be appropriate as no representatives of the airline had ever appeared before the court.
