Sources confirm that Muhammad Khosa submitted his resignation to the Punjab chief minister who approved it and sent a summary to Governor Punjab's office.

It is speculated that his resignation came in the wake of the Sapna kidnapping case which was registered against him in the court of law along with the increasing pressure from the cabinet over his resignation.
