Talking to mediamen here after attending a conference on Food Security, the Prime Minister said the Parliament and the judiciary were performing their roles as defined in the Constitution. When asked to comment on the contempt proceedings in the Supreme Court against him, the Prime Minister said the matter was sub judice.
He said the two friends, one who restored the judiciary and the other who led the movement for its restoration, were now appearing before the Supreme Court. "Once a friend is always a friend," he remarked.
He said the Parliament was playing a responsible role and he spoke as a representative of 180 million people of Pakistan. The Prime Minister said the Cabinet reshuffle was a routine matter but his resignation would not be an ordinary affair.
Replying to a question, he said the NATO supply was neither closed nor it was opened on the demand of religio-political alliance Difa-e-Pakistan Council.
Gilani said the Speaker of the National Assembly constituted the parliamentary committee, with the representation of all the political parties, including the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Gilani said the PPP government was taking all decisions in consultations with its well knit coalition partners.
The Prime Minister said the government increased the support price of wheat from Rs 950 to Rs 1050 per 40 kg as an incentive to the farmers.
