The Judicial Commission probing the Memo Issue recorded the initial testimony of Mansoor Ijaz via video link.
The commission headed by Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Qazi Faez Issa and comprising Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Iqbal Hameed ur Rehman and Sindh High Court Chief Justice Musheer Alam, conducted the proceedings of the memo issue at Islamabad High Court.
During the Wednesday proceedings, Ijaz told the commission about the memo that how it was conveyed to him and sent to former National Security Advisor of United States, General James Jones.
He also showed his black berry set which was used in the conversation between Haqqani and him (Mansoor). Mansoor Ijaz told the commission that according to his understanding RIM used to remove data of BBMS after every three months and data would not be available even after authorization.
However, Attorney General for Pakistan, Molvi Anwarul Haq apprised the commission that without verification of forensic expert the evidence of electronic devices is not admissible under the law of evidence.
He also informed the commission that Canadian Blackberry Company Research in Motions (RIM), has refused to provide details of communication between Mansoor Ijaz and Hussain Haqqani.
The Commission would hear the applications of Zahid Hussain Bokhari Counsel for Husain Haqqani on Thursday regarding cross examination of Mansoor’s testimony in London and forensic verification of evidences.
