Investigators found the murdered body of the newlywed husband in the couple's apartment in the town of Kungur last Friday. The next morning they detained his wife as a suspect in the murder.

“After the official wedding and traditional toasts with alcoholic beverages on the evening of February 17, the newlyweds began to quarrel. The young woman stabbed her husband in the heart area during the quarrel and the young man died on the spot,” the statement said.

The bride is charged with murder and faces up to 15 years in prison if found guilty.
