CM Punjab calls for religious harmony

He was talking to a representative delegation of ulema at Chief Minister's Secretariat, on Friday.

Addressing the meeting, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the ulema had rendered numerous sacrifices during Pakistan movement and now it is their national and religious obligation to promote the message of brotherhood in their sermons.

He said that the survival of Pakistan lies in the elimination of sectarianism and we will have to take steps unitedly for this purpose. He said that foolproof security arrangements have been made on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi and February 04 has been declared a public holiday.

Chairman Muttahida Ulema Board Pir Syed Amin ul Hasnaat Shah, Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Sialvi, Pir Iqbal Shah, Khawaja Qutab-ud-Din, Muhammad Ali Naqshbandi and other ulema addressing the meeting have appreciated the decision of Punjab government of announcing February 4 a special holiday on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi(Peace Be Upon Him).
