The SSGC resheduled its load management plan for Sindh and Balochistan, according to which CNG filling station will remain closed for 36 hours instead of 11hours.
The Compressed Natural Gas supply pumps in the region again saw closure just 13 hours after their reopening as under the weekly Gas Load Management Programme (GLMP), the gas supply to the CNG stations had been suspended earlier from 8pm on Tuesday till 7am Wednesday.
Under the GLMP of gas utility, the CNG stations had to be closed again just for 11 hours from Wednesday evening but the shutdown duration had to be increased suddenly to 36 hours by the SSGC due to the rupturing of one of its major gas pipelines in Balochistan.
In the hours before CNG stations prolonged shutdown on Wednesday evening, long queues of vehicles were witnessed outside the CNG pumps of the city.
In several instances the long queues of vehicles caused encroachment on major roads, causing trouble in the smooth flow of traffic.
The traffic mess around fuel stations persisted till late Wednesday evening.
Earlier, SSGC authorities and All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNG) agreed on 44-hours CNG shutdown per week in the provinces.
