The nine-member larger bench of Chief Justice (CJ) Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry was hearing the memo case on Friday.
The CJ said Prime Minister Gilani’s reply about Babar Awan was not acceptable as it was unclear and a clear stance should be presented.
The Chief Justice remarked that there is no authority except the Constitution and it will be implemented in any case. He said that every one including DG ISI Shuja Pasha, Army chief Ashfaq Kayani and former envoy Husain Haqqani are in the favour of the investigation.
During the hearing, Justice Jawad S. Khuwaja said the conflict existed between the media and the state institutions.
He said the judgments of the court were not based on the news of the media.
