Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry has advised that a high-level judicial forum could be formed to investigate the memo scandal.
A nine-member larger bench hearing the case under the head of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing of Memogate case on Thursday.
During today's hearing Council for Husain Haqqni, Asma jahangir informed the court about difficulties in her meeting with Haqqani.
CJP replied that nobody can harm you and ordered attorney general to arrange a meeting of Asma Jahangir with her client
CJ also said that its important to investigate memo and DG ISI, COAS and Hussain Haqqani also want investigation of the matter.
She said that the memo probe had political and legal aspects and the court should not interfere in the political issues like the memo scandal.
On this, the chief justice remarked that the case had criminal and civil aspects as well.
Earlier, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani submitted his rejoinder to the Supreme Court, insisting that the ‘memo is a reality’ and an attempt to lower the morale of Pakistan's armed forces.
