A.R.Rahman denied permission to perform at Taj Mahal

Rahman along with his singers was to perform live at Mehtab Bagh (Agra) which has spectacular view of the Taj Mahal in the backdrop. However, that would not happen now as the Archaelogical Survey of India (ASI) has not given him the permission to perform at the venue.

The ASI has not been too happy about the way some of the recent films have conducted their shoots in and around the Taj Mahal and from now on has reportedly decided to be very strict in giving shooting/performance permissions.

Rahman will still be doing a symbolic performance and music launch of Ek Deewana Tha in Agra at one of the hotels which has a very good view of Taj Mahal.

Vivek Krishnani says, "It's unfortunate that we could not get a permission to perform at Mehtab Bagh venue. We tried to reason it out but probably due to some past experiences the permission has been denied to us."

Ek Deewana Tha is a love story directed by Gautham Menon and is a remake of his own Tamil super-hit film Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya.
