According to sources, the building collapsed when Lahore Development Authority (LDA) was carrying out anti-encroachment drive in the area.

The authority issued a notice regarding the drive two days earlier however the residents were not cautioned before the operation kicked off.

At least ten people were present inside the building when it was bulldozed that killed two and injured four others, sources added.

Efforts are underway to rescue more victims from the rubble.
