Earlier, Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) resumed the hearing of hajj corruption case and warned the secretary establishment to produce the notification to restore FIA officer Hussain Asghar by 11.30 am today.
Chief Justice (CJ) Iftikhar Chaudhry was heading a six-member bench who was hearing the case. While the proceedings, CJ remarked that the notification to restore investigating officer Hussain Asghar should be produced today else the secretary establishment would be sent to jail.
DG FIA did not appear in the court and the court was told that he is out of the city.
The secretary establishment told the apex court that the summary to restore the FIA officer has been sent to the competent authority, that is the prime minister, however no reply has yet been received. On this, CJ asked the secretary to bring the notification today in any case and set the deadline for 11.30 am.
The chief justice said that if the chief executive, that is the prime minister, hampers the execution of court orders, then it will also be dealt in a legal way.
Later, the court adjourned till tomorrow.
