Speaking on the occasion, the Chief of Army Staff said that Rs.20Â billion have been spent on different developmental projects in the Agency.
He said that Pakistan army had played significant role in elimination of terrorists and establishment of durable peace in the area and will continue to work for progress, peace and prosperity of South Waziristan in future as well.
He said the completion of Wana-Angor Ada road will promote trade ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan and will reduce distance between the two brotherly Muslims countries besides bringing prosperity to the area.
The tribal youth would be provided more opportunities for quality education and a women degree college would also be established in Wana to bolster female education.
He said the tribal people are strength of Pakistan and had always stood with Pakistanis in every testing time.
Later, tribal elders of Barki and Meshud tribes at Chagmalai while talking to newsmen highly lauded the efforts made by General Kiayani for development and establishment of long lasting peace in the area and they said that Pakistan army had won the hearts and minds of people by initiating development projects including extension and pavement of important roads, water schemes besides establishment of durable peace in South Waziristan.
They urged for starting construction/extension work on Kotkai to Saam via Shanki Karma Road to provide better communication facilities to the tribal people.
The tribal elders said that more than 70 percent work on Jandola-Tank and Jandola-Makeen roads have been completed and work on the remaining is underway that after completion of it would bring the less developed areas at par with developed parts of the country.
