Blatter re-elected as FIFA President

Blatter - who will serve his fourth term as FIFA President - has faced plenty of negative media coverage in recent years as the organisation has often been linked to alleged bribery and corruption.

The Swiss was re-elected despite appearing before FIFA's ethics committee on Sunday, when the governing body reviewed claims about alleged cash payments linked to Blatter's only other election rival Mohamed Bin Hammam.

But Blatter claims he is ready to put it all behind him and focus on clearing FIFA's bad reputation.

"I'm deeply moved and honoured," he said in accepting the result.

"I thank you for your trust and confidence. I thank you from the bottom of my heart."

The President also said he had no hard feelings against the nations that did not vote for him - including England, although he did mention he was "surprised" by the Football Association's (FA) efforts to have the election delayed.
