According to police, the attacker first opened fire and then blew up his explosive car outside the home of Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) of police Wazir Khan Nasir in the city of Quetta.

DIG Nasir was slightly wounded in Thursday's attack. After the incident, police have cordoned of the area. The injured have shifted to hospital.
