The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday increased petrol prices by 9 to 13 percent, reflecting the global rise in oil, the state OGRA said, in a move that could create fresh problems for the government.
Light diesel prices rose by 13 percent to 79.67 rupees a litre, an increase of 9.07 rupees. While High Octane Blending Component (HOBC) prices by 7.16 rupees per litre (from Rs90.96 per liter to Rs98.12).
The increase on Friday saw the price of petrol raised to 83.56 rupees a litre from 76.58 rupees, the OGRA said in a statement.
